A Bit of Pomegranate Mythology

Pomegranates have a rich mythology, symbolizing birth, death, and even eternal life. With its bulging red seeds, pomegranates have captivated many civilizations throughout the ages.

Iranians believe the forbidden fruit that tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden was in fact a Pomegranate. Ancient Egyptians were buried with pomegranates, and the prophet Mohammed believed it purges the system of envy and hatred.

It seems that pomegranates just might lead us on a path to world peace. Or maybe a peaceful marriage. Greeks traditionally break open a pomegranate at weddings, and the chinese eat candied pomegranate seeds to bless newlyweds.
